I have a crush...

Okay so let me just begin by saying I completely believe that it is totally unfair that your wedding dress is your "last dress." I LOVE big, fancy, make-you-feel-like-a-princess dresses. Love em! I'm not kidding. And we happen to live a good 1/2 block from a bridal boutique. And I pass it everyday. And I want to run in and try on dresses everyday... even with a 9 month pregnant belly. Yep you heard me. This girl is NOT kidding. I try not to look in the window at their new display every time I pass.... but usually I cheat.. and I look. I can't help it. SO, that being said I have a new dress crush. Its one hundred and twenty thousand and one percent official. Cake Frenzy... and a recipe!

So in the last week less than a week I have made two cakes! I LOVE decorating them and, of course, the smells that come along with baking in my kitchen! YUM-O! Oh and I guess the eating part too. {which I probably should cool it on the eating part... not the most nutritious for this growing little girl inside me}

The BEST Cream Cheese Frosting Ever

1 package cream cheese (8 oz)

1 stick butter (8 tablespoons)

4 cups confectioners sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons imitation vanilla

Okay I have to admit.... when I made this I added an extra 1/2 cup of sugar.... don't judge. But the husband was loving it so it worked for us. I paired it with some oh-so-yummy carrot cake and a maple glaze drizzle over the top.

Just Life

How is it that even when life is supposed to slow down it doesn't? I consistently have every intention of blogging and then lets be honest.. life just gets the best of me. However, in spite of all this the husband and I DO have a fun announcement. We are expecting a baby girl! We can't wait. So any of you moms that want some cute birth announcements... you know where to come!

So... back on track...someday I might be consistent with these inspiration posts or maybe you will just have to stop by and be surprised. Who knows. All I do know is that life isn't slowing down anytime soon. But don't worry, even when I don't have time for blogging, I will always have time for you darling brides who want some lovely announcements ;)

What can I say?? I'm a country girl at heart...

So one of my very best friends is getting married and naturally I couldn't be happier for her. We finally got to meet the fiance (since we are back in Utah) and we love him too! Well they are getting married in Twin Falls, ID and then having a reception near Boise at this barn type venue - which I happen to love the idea of. And so anyway, long story short I told her I would help her find some ideas for the reception and came across this wedding featured on 100 layer cake. And I love it. I guess I'm just a sucker for that rustic home-town feel. So enjoy this feature and anyone else who has a wedding in a barn.... I want to hear about it! P.s. as always... HAPPY FRIDAY!
